Stony Brook Knitting Club Introduction

Stony Brook Knitting Club

Meeting every Wednesday in SeƱorita Morris' room, B107

Welcome to the Stony Brook Knitting Club!  We will have our first meeting on Wednesday, September 24th, after school.  We stay until the bell rings for the late busses.  We do not meet on half-days.  Each year for the holidays we have our annual Yankee Swap with yarn!

The purpose of the Stony Brook Knitting Club is to introduce members to the arts of knitting and crochet, and to enhance the skills they already may have.  In addition, it's a very social group!  Come join!

Haven't knit before?  That's ok.  We recommend you bring the following to the meeting to get you started.  You can find these supplies at any Michael's or Jo-Ann's craft store to begin to make a simple dish cloth:

-skein of Lily Sugar 'n Cream yarn - any color (small skein)
-size 7US needles (plastic, metal or bamboo are fine.  I find that students prefer the bamboo.)
-small scissors to cut yarn
-small bag to carry supplies in.  This can even be a plastic bag from home, just so items aren't lost.

Looking to get started even before the 24th?  Or forget how to cast on, knit, and purl?  Here are some YouTube videos to help you along!

Come in and see me if you have questions!  See you on the 24th!
